What do we Do
Education
The School offers general education from Std VI to Std XII to women students of 14 to 45 years. They appear X and XII std examination conducted by Tamil Nadu State Board of examination. Due to compulsions and pressures from women of remote villages and hilly areas, admitting school drop-outs below 16 years also, under a non-stipendary scheme, charging a very nominal fees has become inevitable. Rehabilitation being the main objective, the students are encouraged to pursue higher studies and are even arranged placement in a field of their choice based on the marks they secure and the skill they possess.
Rehabilitation
The message sent by Mahatma Gandhiji at the inauguration of Gandhigram in 1947 “Success Attends where Truth Reigns” has become true today. We feel proud to state that the Sevikashram has rehabilitated more than 3000 socially, economically disadvantaged women to contribute their might to the welfare of the society by offering their services under various categories as
Doctors, Teachers, Health workers, Craft Teachers, Vocational Streams, Social Workers and many more.
Extracurricular Activities
At Kasthurba Sevikashram Special Higher Secondary School, we have Junior Red cross, Scouts & Guide, Consumers Club, and Parent Teacher Association. These units are actively involved in various activities, including undertaking extension activities in villages, conducting Yoga and Sports.
